i cannot stand it when people take the t from south station to downtown crossing. it's literally less than a tenth of a mile. and you know what? park street is really not that far either. summer's finally here in boston, it's gorgeous outside...WALK, dammit.
i was trying to judge today if this woman was pregnant or not on the train; if she was i was going to offer her my seat but if she wasn't i didn't want to insult her. hmm.
i've already checked out my exam schedule for this semester and i think i will be done by december 18th...which is nice, considering the last day of finals is the 21st. i'll probably, for the first time ever, want to go home asap because i have so little time home during christmas break since i leave for london january 18th! ps if you're already thinking about what to get me for christmas (as i know a lot of you probably are) seriously don't get me anything. wrap up a box with a picture of a place in europe instead.
i'll be home in the county sunday! if anyone has any interest in getting an alumni basketball or soccer game scheduled within the next two weeks, i'm TOTALLY game to play. either or.
a man on the train station kept stepping on my toes today and i finally got the urge to lift my knee up so high and SLAM my foot down on his. i don't know where these violent fits of rage come from, but they are kind of scary!
i haven't left my room yet tonight, but i did have m&m's for supper! i can't wait to have real meals again. funny that i crave chicken stew and ployes even though it's supposed to be 90 degrees tomorrow. ah!
i am so not even close to being finished packing. i've probably got 40% done, but it's impossible to tell what i will wear tomorrow...and thursday...and friday...so i've still got a lot to do. oh well. kath can take care of unpacking it for me, washing it to get the metallic smell out, folding it all, and putting it away when i get back at 404 aroostook.
i've compiled a huge spreadsheet (okay not huge, relatively mediocre) listing all of my options for housing senior year. i know what i want and where i want to be; i've even calculated the distances and times between where i could be living to both whitman and alpha phi. that way, if i'm less than a 3 minute walk from my friends, there is no reason for them to not come and see me!
i found my old neck ring today in the bottom of my bag. funny! ask me to show it to you sometime; it's actually really cool.
i can't wait to go home and do country bumpkin things. like swim at the ropeswing and eat raspberry pie (GRAMMY!) and make dust on my driveway speeding up it to fast and mowing the lawn. all of my favorite things!
lindsey mather's convinced me to get the 10 meal plan. easy enough. click, click, click. i love myslice. and you know what's funny? all the years i've been at college i've never done my own laundry because i'm a little more loved than most kids. this year, however, i have no inclination to do any hankering for such service; i actually kind of like doing it. again, myslice makes that easy...click, click, click!
i really want to shop a lot before i leave boston but i feel the pressures of time falling onto my shoulders! i don't have time to do it all.
anyone want to walk with me in the ACS breast cancer walk in downtown syracuse this fall? also, gotta get on mad plans for relay 2010! so pumped.
i can't wait to have julie persaud as my ra. she'd better get on making me an epic door dec ASAP. word up haven fall 09.
katy canning, can you come back into my life?
is it nuts that i've already started looking into internships for next summer? everyone keeps asking me what i want to do. i think i'm going to do something more corporate.
i learned today that courtney went to school in one of the best districts in all of new york state. i also found out that madawaska is the highest scoring high school in aroostook county (not including mssm, which doesn't count). it's higher than presque isle. also, i never would have guessed that fort kent scores higher than caribou, but we do! did you know that maine is one of just ten states in the entire country that does not permit charter schools? that's why we'll never get anyyyy of obama's race to the top $. oh, susan gendron.
seen the new aroostook county magazine our maine street? i was impressed; the photography was incredible. even though just four issues are produced each year, i'm thinking of subscribing. it doesn't beat the police blotter out of the valley times, but it's definitely a different form of entertainment.
i also can't wait to be back for the muskie derby and the ploye festival! scary fishies and delicious carbs, oh my word!
i set my facebook in pirate language again, and i'm really enjoying it. settings>language>english (pirate). careful, though, you might get confused and never be able to get it back.
i'm learning to love odwalla bars. i'm not getting much protein in my diet anymore, but these are a decent supplemental source.
i can't believe i have just 3 days left at work! so sad!
can't tell you what my posts will be like from the county. it takes me a long time to write these, which means i'll have to put in a lot of miles on the stationery bike to power up the electricity long enough to run the wireless so that i can actually post! but i'll try, i'll try. i'll hitch up the horse and buggy and ride into town once a week from the outskirts of town if i have to to let those who know the comforts of electricity and running water know i'm still alive.
my friend lindsey was making towns today who "have, like, main street as their only street." no comment.
mazeltov! staaaaay epic!
Ahhh hi!!!! I miss youuuu!!! So I accidently left my phone in New Jersey and have been without it for approzimately 3 days and I wanna go nuts. It's seriously driving me crazy to not be able to text someone or check my emails, or go on facebook and all the other crazy shit that thing can do.
ReplyDeleteI'm officially in "OMG I need to study or my life will be over" mode because my very cute Law School Admissions Test Instructor just got into Vanderbuilt and I'm thinking about pulling a legally blonde and go after him haha. But seriously, I'm so nervious that I'm going to get a terrible LSAT score and then be stuck in the shit hole that is Syracuse, NY for the rest of my life. YIKES.
I can't wait for you and the girls to come back to Cuse so I can escape from work, work, work and LSAT review. I can't wait for this test to come and go!!
xoxoxoxo :)
Thanks for all the mean comments about how I'm stupid. I appreciate your friendship so much, and all I get back is rudeness. UGH.
ReplyDeleteWell, I guess I'll see ya in 2010. Peace out.
